Are you looking for your next big trip? Maybe you’re thinking about heading out to Hong Kong or enjoying the new year in New York? Well, you’re not the only one. So many of our dreams are filled with incredible trips and even better experiences. But when it comes to amazing travel, you don’t have to head overseas. If you don’t often tend to spend a lot of time in the UK, then it’s time to change that. Because our beautiful country has too much to offer. You’re going to want to make sure that you plan a trip of a lifetime, and really get to see the best of Britain. If that sounds like just the change (and the break) you’re looking for, here’s what you need to do.
1. Pick Somewhere You’ve Always Wanted To See
So first of all, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re picking somewhere that you’ve always wanted to visit. Maybe you love the idea of seeing Cornwall, or you’ve never been to London before? Or does the Lake District tickle your fancy? Or maybe you love the idea of heading to one of the UK’s most underrated cities? Just think about somewhere that you’ve always wanted to see, and head there.
2. Go All Out With Your Accommodation
Then, when it comes to picking where to stay, definitely treat yourself. As you’re not booking flights, you may as well! Think about the luxury hotels that you like the look of, or even some of the quirkier places that you could stay at too. Maybe a luxury cabin is exactly what you need instead. Remember, this is going to make or break your staycation, so choose wisely.
3. Plan Out Your Food Before You Leave
Then, think about where you might like to eat. Sure, you can try out the hotel, but maybe you want to eat well when you’re away. Look at fast food in Cardiff or Michelin star meals in London. Just make sure that you find spots that are going to make your stay even better.
4. Take Things Slow
But make sure that you’re not rushing this. There are so many incredible places to staycation at, that you will want to really explore the location you choose. Make the most of each day, really spend some time exploring the local area, and don’t try to cram too much in. The idea of this is to have a break. Not tire yourself out too much!
5. Pack Well
And then, you’re going to want to make sure that you pack well. Now, you may not be going abroad, and you may not need to pack light to fit into the luggage allowance, but you still won’t want to go too wild. Lugging everything around and spending too much time unpacking and then repacking could really spoil things for you. So pick a carry-on bag, and pack only the things you need to enjoy a short staycation right here in the UK.
